As one of the most prestigious cigar manufacturers, Arturo Fuente has been in the game for quite some time. The Fuente Company faced many challenges early on and their story is remarkable. Over 100 years later, the old man’s perseverance paid off as they are now the gold standard for cigars. Their focus on quality craftsmanship is brought to life when Carlos Sr. himself says “We don’t hurry things; we just do things the way they are supposed to be done”. If I had to choose to smoke only one cigar the rest of my life, I would choose a Fuente without hesitation. The quality tobacco and craftsmanship make this cigar shockingly consistent. To this day, I have never had one that was over-packed, too slow or fast of a burn, or less than perfect flavor. For that reason, I’ve put together a selection of my favorite Arturo Fuente cigars. As an added value, my friends at Gotham Cigars have some of the best prices on them. Please consider purchasing through the links below as they are a great way to support the website. Chateau Fuente Series

The Chateau is my go-to cigar. It’s has a rich flavor with hints of coffee and a unique nuttiness. It’s blended from Fuente’s private reserve of tobaccos and perfectly aged. Receiving multiple 90 ratings, this cigar is a fan favorite. Another great thing about this cigar is that you have a lot of different options to choose from. My favorite is the Double Chateau Maduro (6.7”x50). I find it to be the perfect size, however, if you have more time, reach for the 7.5”x54 Royal Salute for a longer lasting smoke!

Hemingway Classic

Only Fuente’s elite craftsman have the privilege of making the Hemingway Classic and they only create 75 per day. The unique design with the tapered foot is known as the “Figurado” shape. Legend has it that one of the Fuente sons came up with the idea so that it would be easier to light his cigar while he was battling the wind on his boat. It’s masterfully blended with Dominican filler and Cameroon wrappers. Medium in strength with flavors of sugar, spice, and everything nice!

Don Carlos Robusto

Rich, smooth, and nutty the Don Carlos is made from the best of Fuente’s estate-grown Dominican tobacco and aged for 10 years. Don’t let the smaller Robusto size fool you, this smoke will take some time as it’s tightly packed and flawlessly rolled making it slow to burn. It’s a complex cigar medium in strength, however, the peppery flavor puts it in the full-bodied camp in my opinion. The amount of smoke that Don Carlos produces engages all senses and provides a superb smoking experience.
